Privacy

Your drives stay on your phone. Spirited has no accounts and no servers that receive your drives, your location or your photos.

What Spirited stores, on your device

• Drives: the GPS track, times, distance, speed, elevation, curves and g-forces of each drive you record.
• Your garage: the cars you add (year, make, model, nickname, livery) and any photo of your car you choose.
• Settings: map look, units, night mode, privacy trim and planned roads.

This data is stored only in the app on your iPhone. If your iPhone backs up to iCloud or a computer, the app's data is included in that backup like any other app's. Delete a drive from its page, remove a car from your garage, or delete the app to remove everything.

Permissions

• Location records the route of a drive and, if you plan a famous road, notices when you reach its start line. With “Always” permission, drives can record by themselves when you start driving. Location is processed on your device.
• Motion & Fitness tells the app when you start and stop driving, and measures cornering forces. It is processed on your device.
• Photos is used only for the photos you pick (your car, or a backdrop for a share card) and to save the cards you create.
• Notifications are local: a drive was saved, or recording started at a start line.

Services Spirited uses

• Mapbox draws the maps. To load map tiles, your device contacts Mapbox, and the Mapbox SDK collects location, usage, performance and diagnostic data with an anonymous identifier, not linked to you and not used for tracking, as described in Mapbox's privacy policy. You can turn Mapbox telemetry off from the (i) button on any map.
• NHTSA vPIC, the US government's public vehicle database: when you add a car, the make and year you type are sent to it to suggest models. Nothing else is sent.
• Apple Maps and CarPlay: if you ask for directions to a road's start, its coordinates are handed to Apple Maps.

Spirited contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no trackers. We don't sell or share your data, and we can't: we don't have it.

Sharing

Nothing leaves the app unless you share it. Share cards are made on your device. By default they hide your time and top speed and the first and last 500 m of the route, so your home and destination stay private. You can change these in the app.

Children

Spirited is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
